We want to equip parents of preschoolers, elementary children, and middle and high school students through a one-day conference held at ClearView: BECOMING A TECH SAVVY PARENT
Saturday, Nov 10 from 8am-12pm
Cost is $15 per person/$25 per couple
Includes full catered breakfast from Pucketts, general conference session and a breakout session.
Free Childcare for birth-5th Grade if you RSVP by Wed, Nov 7.
Guest Speaker, Brian Housman is a speaker, writer and communicator on issues of family and culture. He will be here to discuss issues affecting our kids (children and teens) on a daily basis: internet safety, social media, cyberbullying, sexting, and more. You will leave with not only a working knowledge of the web culture but also specific steps you can take as a parent of any age child to safeguard your home and child's life.
1. Student Ministry and Older Elementary Parents: Brian will lead a second session specifically on setting sexual boundaries with technology, and how to respond when it happens in your home. This session is encouraged for parents of children ages 10-18.
2. Preschool Ministry and Younger Elementary Parents: Special Guest speaker JJ Jones will lead a session called: Beyond the Screen - Moving past Behaviors to Parenting the Heart. Parental controls alone won't protect our children. In this breakout, we will investigate the "why" behind the "what" of being a tech savvy parent and look at several tensions we must hold as we get to the heart behind our childrne's behavior and choices. This session is encouraged for parents of children ages birth - 9.
